Grand Prix racing on the cheap?
MotoMatters, one of my favourite motor-sport blogs, published this very interesting article last week on the relative inexpensiveness of the new Moto2 class. Replacing the much lauded 250cc class, this year will give the critics the chance to slag it off, or give the optimists the opportunity to sing it's praises if the racing has been good. As for myself, I'll be keeping an open counsel on things, as it's unfair to denigrate the series before it's even started. For the economists amongst you, the idea of running a team for million or so Euro's a season is infinitely better than forking out a million plus just for one of Aprilia's 250cc factory bikes (let alone the rest of the costs). If the on-track action is as positive as the savings they'll make, then Moto2 may be here to stay.
